About Us

A CARING, PROFESSIONAL STAFF
Founded in 1983, the First Presbyterian Learning Place Preschool has been a ministry to the local community for over thirty years.
Our teachers are carefully chosen for their educational backgrounds, Christian commitment, classroom experience, and understanding of the needs of young children. As caring Christians, all staff members demonstrate their concern for every child in the program. The Learning Place maintains a low student-teacher ratio to achieve an individualized learning approach and a positive classroom environment.

CHEERFUL CLASSROOMS
POSITIVE, BALANCED CURRICULUM
The preschool program integrates a Christian curriculum with academics, including number concepts, letter recognition and their phonetic sounds, language development, art, science, cognitive skills, music, and motor activities. We incorporate Zoo-phonics, a multi-sensory Language Arts program, in all classes. This kinesthetic, multi-modal approach to learning, uses animals to help children learn the alphabet and phonetic sounds.
The Learning Place Preschool's goal is to develop the unique potential of every young student by providing a solid Christian foundation and offering the skills and concepts needed for kindergarten. Activities are developmentally appropriate to balance play and learning, while promoting competence, independence, and self confidence.
